​A time-shift romance... Spring 1999.
Embellished with finely carved granite recently unearthed from a nearby farm, Tom Grant’s renovated cottage overlooking Mount’s Bay on the headland above Mousehole in Cornwall, is admired by all.
Except this once purposely hidden stonework was fashioned, centuries ago, by the Demon Stonemason of Lamorna  and until now, much to the Demon's outrage, has never been paid for.
Unaware of his fatal error in using this stonework, Tom becomes captivated by the Stonemason's beautiful ward, Carenza, when she  is sent forward through time, instructed to confirm the original ownership of the Demon's  masonry.
Carenza tries to warn Tom of his mistake and the likely consequence if he fails to settle with the stonemason, unless she can somehow convince the Demon of his innocent mistake.
Having failed to convince the Demon,  she returns to warn Tom of his perilous position and tries, unsuccessfully  to convince him of the devil's existence. 
The situation is exacerbated by Tom and Carenza falling in love which only enrages the Demon further and compounds their problems.
Tom's attempt to travel back in time to rescue Carenza from her imprisonment somewhere deep in the Lamorna valley only propels  him into further conflict with the Demon which takes him down a path of pain and misery from which there seems no end except to accept  the Devil's demand.... his eternal soul.
